The Chattanooga & Chickamauga Battlefields are a great and safe place for a family bike ride. The attached video is of a Chickamauga Battlefield bike ride that my kids and I did recently. This is a small portion of the loop that we rode and it ended up being just over 6.5 miles. It is a very flat ride with only a few elevation changes.

Where To Start:

We started out ride at the Visitors Center at the entrance to the park. The grass field with the bridge is the only unpaved area that you are allowed to ride bikes on. If you are interested in hiking in the park there are lots of horse and hiking trails but bikes are not allowed on those. There area number of miles of paved roads and gravel service roads that you are allowed to ride on. We rode on the Glenn-Kelley Road side of the park to keep the kids off of Lafayette Road. You can also pack a lunch and spend more time and tour all the the monuments and take advantage of some of the great picnic areas during your Chickamauga Battlefield Bike ride . I recommend this ride as a simple family ride for the Chattanooga area. To follow more of our rides through some of the great parks and trails in the Chattanooga area Click Here.
