The Mountain Education Foundation

People are always calling us and telling us that they want to move to Signal Mountain. One of the first reasons that they tell us that they have elected Signal Mountain is because of what they have heard and read about the schools. The Mountain Education Foundation is one of the reasons for the schools success.
The Mountain Education Foundation (MEF) was formed to provide ongoing financial support to achieve and maintain excellence in the Signal Mountain public schools. Since 1991 The Mountain Education Foundation (MEF) has provided more than $2.8 million in funding to enhance learning in the classroom in an effort to continually strengthen the Signal Mountain schools. MEF not only raises money for classroom supplies and activities but also pays the salaries for the technology, art and music teachers that the Hamilton County Department of Education can not provide in most Hamilton County schools.
MEF brings parents, the PTA’s, community leaders, citizens and local businesses together for an organized and united fundraising effort while connecting with principals and educators to identify the essential needs for each of the schools they serve. The three Signal Mountain schools that benefit from the Mountain Education Foundation are Nolan Elementary, Thrasher Elementary and Signal Mountain Middle/High School . MEF is always looking for volunteers to help plan and set up their fundraising events and communicating with donors to either raise money for the endowment or the annual campaign. For more information on how you can keep the Signal Mountain schools some of the best in the area contact us.
Below are just a few of the ways that they raise money to help the schools.

1. Golf Tournaments

2. Phone A Thons

3. Celebration For Education – Special Guest Evenings

4. Dash And Bash – Run For Education
