Did you know that there is a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Chattanooga? There is. The Shavin house on Missionary Ridge is the only house in the area designed by the famous architect. At first the Shavin’s were just asking the famous architect for a referral on who he may recommend to design their new home but instead they got the man himself.
For those of you who don not know who Frank Lloyd Wright was, Frank Lloyd Wright was a prominent American architect known for his distinct style and groundbreaking designs. He had a career spanning over 70 years and created a wide range of buildings, including homes, churches, offices, museums, and more. Some of his most famous works include Fallingwater in Pennsylvania, the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, and the Robie House in Chicago.
Wright was known for his philosophy of organic architecture, which aimed to integrate buildings harmoniously into their natural surroundings. His designs often featured open spaces, natural materials, and a focus on functionality.

The home is located at 334 North Crest Road in Chattanooga and construction was completed in 1952. The house sits on top of missionary Ridge so it has great views of Downtown Chattanooga and the Tennessee River. The rumor is that the home may be for sale soon at auction so stay tuned there may be a new chapter in store for this special home.
